Claiming Your Alabama.Edu Account
- Login to your PERSONAL email account (the email you have on file through banner) and search for an email titled “Activate Your Alabama.edu Account”. You will have to use the search feature in your inbox as the email probably has been pushed to the bottom of the inbox.
- The email will contain a claim code followed by a link to https:\\www.password.alabama.edu
- Follow the prompts to create a password and your account will be claimed.
From here you will now be able to login to your MyDrake Experience using your “A#@alabama.edu” login which will give you access to Banner and Canvas!
If you HAVE NOT received an e-mail to claim your account PLEASE contact the IT Department ASAP at (256)551-3126.
Canvas Mobile APP
*Returning Students PLEASE NOTE*
If you have logged into the Canvas APP in previous semesters, or if you notice that your classes aren’t showing up. You need to logout, and verify that you are in the “Drake State – NEW” Canvas.
- Download the Canvas app from the AppStore.
- Click “Find my School”
- Search for “Drake State – NEW”
- Login using your A#@alabama.edu login (See previous section about claiming this account)
*If prompted to setup “Microsoft Authenticator” you can press the “Skip” button for now, A How-To guide for this will be coming at a later date*
Student Email
Your username is:
first.last@students.drakestate.edu
Your first-time password is:
your A# with a capital A.
