9/18/2012

J.F. Drake State Technical College has been named to the 2013 Military Friendly Schools® list.
The 2013 Military Friendly Schools® list honors the top 15 percent of colleges and universities that are doing the most to embrace America’s military service members, veterans, and spouses as students and ensure their success
on campus.
“Inclusion on the 2013 list of Military Friendly Schools® shows Drake State Technical College’s commitment to providing a supportive environment for military students,” said Sean Collins, director for G.I. Jobs and vice president at Victory Media, a service-disabled, veteran-owned small business.
The 2013 list of Military Friendly Schools® was compiled through extensive research and a data-driven survey of more than 12,000 VA-approved schools nationwide. Developed with the assistance of an Academic Advisory Board (AAB) consisting of educators from schools across the country, the methodology for compiling the list can be found at http://www.militaryfriendlyschools.com/methodology.aspx.
Drake State President Helen T. McAlpine said, “The college is very pleased and proud to be named a top military friendly school. We look forward to continuing to serve the military and their dependents as they train for current and future employment.”
Drake State has a veterans representative on campus that is knowledgeable and able to assist in the process of applying for benefits.
